We kicked off our summer this year with a trip to California. We spent a few days in Napa and a few in San Diego visiting the city and a friend. If you are planning to go to Napa you should stay at the Meritage Resort and Spa. It is beautiful! They have amazing views of the valley, their own vineyard and great food! The huz and I really enjoyed our stay. If you stay at the Meritage, make sure to check out Crush Lounge which is one of their restaurant options, spend time in their vineyard, visit their spa and this is going to sound silly but if you are a Fresh fan indulge in their toiletries! Fresh is a Boston based natural beauty brand. I walked in to our restroom and saw Fresh products, something I usually purchase at Sephora and I thought to myself, "yup, I am going to love this place". The Meritage is in the middle of an expansion which I think is going to be a great addition to the valley considering the current downtown options. If you are a thinking about a destination wedding the Meritage would be THE place! Napa is the perfect place to relax, take in the scenery, and drink wine. There is no jam packed itinerary, which is ok. We took a day to visit several boutique wineries - Aonair was by far our favorite. Every vineyard has its own charm but Aonair was stunning. We aren't big on crowds. We enjoy intimate tours so we found the smaller boutique wineries were the way to go.
After a few days in Napa, we flew to San Diego to visit a friend. The weather was perfect. It was an escape from the already very hot Houston. My friend took us from beach to beach, neighborhood to neighborhood showing us all the sites. Shout out to B! Our favorite was La Jolla and Coronado beach. I have never in my life seen glitter in the sand! It was great to see an old friend and of course good to get away from reality for a bit. I always come back home energized full of inspiration. I am wondering if I should redecorate my home and do a beach theme?🤔
Below are a few shots from our trip. Hope you are planning something fun this summer!
