Happy New Year! Am I the only one that has been hibernating?!?! If you live in Houston, you know it has been bitterly cold!! I have been spending my time relaxing and taking the new year in. I literally just went back to yoga last week, which for me says a lot.
As you know, I am not about setting new year resolutions. It just is not my thing. I do like to reflect on the prior year and think about the new year and what I'd like to accomplish. We have a few projects and trips planned that I am really excited about. This year I just want to breathe. I want to take it all in and enjoy the moment.
I have resolved to use the makeup I have before buying new products😳. I have been using the first few weeks of the year to organize and declutter. I want to focus on good stuff that I use on the regular. Everything else has been thrown away or donated.
My sister challenged me to not buy any lip products this year and I have accepted her challenge. There are a few lip products that I purchased leading up to the holidays that I have been living in this winter. They have really helped keep my lips hydrated during this crazy winter season.
I can't live without a good lip scrub. Mary Kay Satin Lips is an oldie but a goodie for me. I used to have this years ago and forgot about it. I use the shea sugar scrub once or twice a week and I follow that with the shea butter balm. I really like using the balm at night before going to bed. It smells amazing. I also like to use the EOS lip balm to protect against chapped lips.
Burt's Bees expanded their makeup line last year. I actually have not tried any of their new products but I did pick up some of their lip shimmers for Christmas gifts. I am all about natural beauty products that actually work. What I like about the lip shimmers is they hydrate while having a tint of color. They are perfect for days you might not want to wear a lipstick or a liquid lip but you want a little something more than just lip balm. This lip product could also be a good option for those of y'all that don't love lipsticks. They have great ingredients such as shea butter and fruit oils. They also glide on your lips very easily. I've included a few swatches and lip looks below.
Hope y'all are staying warm!
