I am a little over the top when it comes to Christmas. Miguel (the huz) will have to remind me to tone it down a notch. Although I would consider myself a simple girl, when it comes to decorating for Christmas, simple is rarely in my vocabulary. Miguel on the other hand is a firm believer in less is more in every situation so I am trying to find a balance. Since we went with a woodsy sparkle theme, I thought it would be great to keep our artificial wreaths simple with a twist.
My inner Christmas decorator wanted to add glitter, bows, ribbon (the list goes on) but I tried something a little different and I am kind of loving it. I added real pine stems, pine cones, magnolia leaves and other Christmas stems. The fresh elements in our garland and Christmas tree helped add to the woodsy feel. I loved it so much I decided to do this in the kitchen as well which tied everything together.
The added fresh elements give the wreaths an extra touch that isn't over the top (win for Miguel) and it makes it interesting (win for me). I really like the elegant look and it is super easy and affordable. My wreaths are from Home Depot but any wreath will do.
I think this is a simple yet beautiful centerpiece for the holiday season. Of course, it would be equally as beautiful with a fresh pine wreath which you could purchase or make.
The perks of using an artificial wreath:
- No watering
I don't even want to think about the fact that all this Christmas magic will be gone in a few days. Enjoy it while you can!
